The Environmental Services Specialist maintains environmental standards within The Kidz Club policies. The position performs a variety of cleaning tasks to maintain an organized, tidy, and safe environment for our practitioners and kids. The position will perform general cleaning duties, keep inventory of cleaning supplies, maintain minor maintenance, and submit needs to administration. The Environmental Services Specialist will guide staff in cleaning procedures and assist in the organization of spaces throughout the facility.

Qualifications

  • The ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written in a clear, concise, and easily understood manner.
  • Basic personal computer skills and comfort with learning electronic charting systems.
  • Childcare and/or Healthcare experience preferred.
  • A current negative Tuberculosis test (PPD) is required.
  • Current CPR (Basic Life Support) is required.

Positions Available:

  • Full-time: Monday - Friday

Starting Rate:

  • $18.00 - $20.00
  • Rate increases with experience based on pre-set qualifiers.

Customer Service

  • Seek to provide customer needs assessment in regards to cleaning and light maintenance.
  • Relay important information regarding cleaning supply inventory to the Center Leadership Team.

Cleaning

  • Dusts furniture, cabinets, and heavy equipment in each room.
  • Cleans and disinfects all fixtures, floors, mirrors, windows, doors, and walls of bathrooms.
  • Wet-mops rooms, halls, and other areas.
  • Shampoos rugs as needed.
  • Cleans vents, fan fixtures, tops of doorframes, and other high traffic areas.
  • Provides instruction and guidance to all staff and children in proper safety and sanitation as it pertains to environmental services.
  • Coordinates quarterly disinfection treatments of floors and walls as needed, no less than once a quarter.

Maintenance

  • Minor maintenance of the center is required. Maintenance will include but is not limited to:
  • Painting and painting preparation
  • Light bulb changes
  • Handing and/or mounting wall equipment
  • Minor plumbing repairs

Teamwork

  • Participate in a team effort to fulfill facility goals by taking written instructions from the Center Leadership Team.
  • Give accurate and thorough reports; in writing, to the Center Leadership Team when exiting assigned area.
  • Follow chain of command with questions and concerns.

Cleanliness

  • Leads the cleaning and maintenance of the facility; complete all cleaning assignments satisfactorily.
  • Follow Standard Precautions protocols.
  • Use good hand hygiene.
  • Maintain good personal hygiene and portray a professional appearance at all times.
  • Use proper personal protective equipment at all times.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Center Leadership Team.

Attendance & Assignment

  • Record work hours accurately and appropriately.
  • Adhere to work schedule.
  • Adhere to daily assignment and classroom schedule.
  • Remain flexible in changes that occur throughout the day.

WORK CONDITIONS

  • Physical demands
  • The employee is required to bend, stoop, squat, kneel and reach freely.
  • The employee may be confined to a limited workspace.
  • The employee must be able to lift or move a maximum of 25 – 50 lbs. without assistance.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • The employee must have acute hearing and olfactory senses for assessment purposes.
  • Must have good tactile senses and fine manual dexterity with range of motion to all extremities.
  • While performing the duties of this job the employee will encounter moderate physical exertion.
  • Work environment
  • The employee must be able to think, act and move quickly.
  • The noise level in the work environment may be low to moderate.
  • Sometimes exposed to infectious diseases, offensive odors, and hazardous materials.
  • The employee is required to wear protective clothing/gear when dealing with hazardous materials.
  • No one under the age of 18 is allowed to handle any type of hazardous materials.

The Kidz Club PPEC provides daily skilled nursing care for children, ages birth to under 21, who have been diagnosed with medical complexities. PPECs initiate daily conversation among pediatricians, therapists, and family, providing continuity of care through case management, skilled nursing, and enrichment for the betterment of the child.
